Discover Pita Gyros Gòtic

If you’re wandering through the charming streets of Barcelona, particularly in the historic heart of the city, the Gothic Quarter, a must-visit spot for an authentic Greek food experience is Pita Gyros Gòtic. Nestled on Carrer dels Escudellers, 42, in Ciutat Vella, this cozy gem brings the tastes of Greece straight to the vibrant streets of Barcelona, offering a casual and flavorful dining experience that’s hard to forget.

The moment you step into Pita Gyros Gòtic, you’re immediately greeted with the savory smells of grilled meats, fresh vegetables, and the unmistakable aroma of tzatziki sauce. The restaurant's welcoming atmosphere, complete with a modern yet rustic décor, invites you to settle in and savor a meal at your own pace. It’s clear that this place is not just about food-it’s about offering an authentic experience that transports you straight to Greece.

The menu at Pita Gyros Gòtic is a reflection of the classics you would find in any Greek taverna, but with a distinctly local twist. Whether you’re in the mood for a traditional gyro, a fresh salad, or a loaded pita, there’s something to satisfy every palate. One of the standout dishes is their famous gyro, which comes in several variations. The meats, often a choice between chicken, lamb, or pork, are marinated and perfectly grilled, bringing out rich, smoky flavors. Each gyro is carefully assembled with crunchy veggies, a generous dollop of creamy tzatziki, and wrapped in a soft, warm pita bread that holds everything together just right.

The menu doesn’t stop at gyros though. For those seeking a lighter bite or a vegetarian option, the falafel pita is a fantastic choice. The falafel balls are crispy on the outside, yet tender and flavorful inside, complemented with fresh cucumber, tomatoes, and of course, that signature tzatziki sauce. And let’s not forget the salads-they’re vibrant and packed with Mediterranean flavors, from feta cheese and olives to fresh greens and tangy dressing.

What sets Pita Gyros Gòtic apart from other places serving Greek cuisine in Barcelona is its commitment to using high-quality ingredients. The vegetables are always fresh, the meats are sourced responsibly, and the pita bread is made to order, ensuring each bite is as delicious as the last. It’s this attention to detail that keeps locals and tourists coming back for more.

The restaurant also prides itself on its speedy service, which is perfect if you’re grabbing a quick bite while exploring the Gothic Quarter. Despite the hustle and bustle of the city, the staff at Pita Gyros Gòtic always makes you feel like you’re the only customer. Their warm hospitality adds to the charm, making it not just a meal, but an experience you’ll want to repeat.

A visit to Pita Gyros Gòtic isn’t just about the food-it’s about immersing yourself in a piece of Greek culture right in the heart of Barcelona. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, you’re sure to enjoy a meal that’s not only satisfying but full of vibrant flavors that make Greek cuisine so beloved worldwide.

If you find yourself in the area, don’t miss the chance to experience Pita Gyros Gòtic for yourself. It’s a place where great food meets great service, and where every meal feels like a celebration of Greek culinary traditions. Perfect for a quick bite after a day of sightseeing or a relaxed evening with friends, this restaurant is a must-try for anyone looking to enjoy a taste of Greece in Barcelona.

  • Everything about the gyro was amazing, the tzatziki, the veggies, the bread. Fair price and good portion.

  • Hands down one of the BEST gyros I’ve had in Barcelona! The pita is loaded with super fresh ingredients, tons of flavor, and the meat is just perfect. The homemade sauces are next level (some with a nice spicy kick ), and the fries… crispy, golden, and sooo good. There’s no seating, so it’s more of a takeaway/delivery spot—but honestly, that doesn’t matter when the food is this good. These guys clearly know what they’re doing. If you’re in Barcelona, don’t sleep on this place. Gyro heaven!

  • Very Good! Definitely one of the best in Barcelona. Do not go for any of the cheap and bad quality kebabs. Go for this one you will like it a lot! Highly recommend!

  • Gyro wrap was good and full of veggie and meat. The serving size is worth it for the price! You can buy just the wrap, or make it a meal by adding fries and a drink. Total for 2 meals was around €18 for us and we enjoyed our food at home. You can also grab a fork if you wanna enjoy it like a plate meal (really good for me since I don’t like eating messy!) Service was very quick, and the staff are helpful and pretty friendly.
